Raiders is both a physical and mental team. We are a combination of both physically strong and mentally tough individuals that work together as a whole. We have hard core P.T. or physical training daily after school. Only the best and most motivated cadets become Raiders.
The Raiders team is composed of both physical training and orienteering. Each team, consisting of 12 members, 10 of whom are active for each event, competed in five events including building and crossing a rope bridge and a five-mile run, orienteering; a competitive team sport using a map and compass to navigate a course to locate specific points called control points and the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). Individual points are awarded to each participant based on the number of exercise repetitions done within a specified time and a timed one-mile run. Individual exercises are: curl-ups, the v-sit reach, shuttle run, push-ups, and the two-mile run, and a five-mile run as a separate event. Jordan Bowley is in charge of the program this year. The sport challenges an individual’s physical fitness, land navigation, organizational and decision making skills.
